Dr. Akram Alami joined the Dental Arts of Westwood Team in 2024. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2015. Following graduation, he owned and operated a successful dental practice in Greenville, North Carolina, for seven years before relocating to the Boston area in 2022. Dr. Alami is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Alami is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, emphasizing attentive listening and individualized treatment planning to meet each patient’s unique needs. He values working collaboratively with his colleagues and appreciates the advanced technology that enhances patient outcomes, including same-day treatment options for crowns and other procedures. He finds the greatest professional fulfillment in the trust and appreciation expressed by his patients.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Alami enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling internationally, and following University of North Carolina football and basketball.

Dr. Alana, a specialist in orthodontics and Invisalign, joined the practice in March 2021. She first met Dr. Dan at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where they trained under the same esteemed mentors. Graduating Magna Cum Laude, Dr. Alana went on to complete her advanced specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Tufts. For over a decade, she has been creating beautiful smiles for patients of all ages along the East Coast, earning recognition as a Board- Certified Orthodontist.

As our office continues to welcome an increasing number of young patients, Dr. Alana is committed to ensuring your children are on track with their growth and development. We recommend scheduling a consultation for children starting at age 7 to plan for their future care. However, Dr. Alana’s expertise extends beyond pediatric care—she is also passionate about the results she achieves with Invisalign for adults.

Originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, Dr. Alana enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and baking. She is a devoted mother to her son and resides locally with her family. In addition to being a Top Invisalign Provider, Dr. Alana is certified in facial esthetics.

Dr. Abigail Braun is a general dentist dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care with a focus on precision, comfort, and long-term oral health. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she combines a strong foundation in clinical dentistry with a thoughtful, individualized approach to treatment planning. Her philosophy emphasizes minimally invasive, evidence-based techniques to optimize both function and esthetics, while creating an environment where patients feel informed, respected, and at ease throughout their care.

Dr. Braun graduated summa cum laude from Miami University before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. During her training, she was recognized with the Merit Award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry for her excellence in cosmetic dental treatment. She also held leadership roles in student organizations focused on esthetic and pediatric dentistry and managed operations for a student-run clinic in collaboration with Cambridge Health Alliance, where she provided care to pediatric patients and supported community-based oral health initiatives across Massachusetts.

Following dental school, Dr. Braun completed a rigorous General Practice Residency at the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she had the privilege of serving our nation’s heroes. Through this intensive training, she developed a strong focus on caring for patients with complex medical histories, including those with systemic diseases and medically compromised conditions. This experience shaped her approach to dentistry-emphasizing thoughtful treatment planning, careful consideration of each patient’s overall health, and a compassionate, individualized approach to care.

Now based in Boston, she is committed to building lasting relationships with her patients through clear communication, clinical excellence, and a supportive, judgment-free approach to care. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Braun enjoys exploring New England with her husband and daughter and stays active through fitness and exercise, a longtime interest honed during her years as a Division I field hockey player.

Dr. Chiu received his doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2016. He then received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study and Master of Science in Dentistry from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2019.

He offers various Periodontal treatments, including comprehensive Periodontics, dental implants, crown lengthening, bone grafting and gingival recession treatments.

Dr Chiu is committed to continuing his education in the field of dentistry, as well as educating young dentists. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontists. He is also a current Assistant Professor of Periodontology at Boston University. From Taiwan and Vancouver, Dr. Chiu resides in Boston. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Why I Insist on Gentle, Painless Dentistry

Since I was very young, I have had aspirations of becoming a dentist.  It all started when at the age of five, I had a four hour long root canal procedure. Since I lived in the USSR there was NO anesthesia used and my mother couldn’t even be by my side.  Hearing my sobs of pain from the waiting room she lost consciousness shortly before I did.  After that horrible experience, I vowed to never let that happen to anyone! At that moment my odd but well intentioned dream was born. I am proud to say that now my dream has become reality. This is an exciting time in my life and I want to share my passion for dentistry with you in our practice.

Dr. Dan Kazachkov attended Tufts School of Dental Medicine, one of the world’s most renowned dental education programs. Dr. Dan also attained a Fellowship from the American Dental Implant Association and belongs to many accredited dental institutions. He takes extensive continuing education courses in esthetic and implantology dentistry, from luminaries such as Dr. Frank Spear, Dr. Lindsey Pankey, Dr.Arun Garg and Dr. Noshir Metah.

Dr. Siriani is a general practitioner of dentistry who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. In addition to earning his DMD degree, he was the recipient of two academic awards from Boston University in recognition of his excellence in dentistry.

Dr. Siriani is a strong advocate of gentle dentistry and comprehensive oral health care. He believes that dental treatment should take a holistic approach, focusing on the overall well-being of the patient—not just the teeth and mouth.

“Dentistry is in my blood. I truly love what I do, and I am dedicated to continuously learning and growing within the field. Keeping myself current with modern techniques, technology, and scientific advancements is an ongoing and fulfilling journey.”

When I was seven, in a dental exam, it was found that I had two cavities on my adult molars. I remember that my mom was devastated with the news, and I could sense from my mom’s reaction that getting a filling is a horrible and painful thing. The dentist assured my mom and I that I would be just fine. The dentist was really nice and explained everything during the filling procedure and to my surprise, it was a pleasant experience and not painful at all! I still vividly remember that at the end, the dentist and I had a pinky promise that I would brush and floss well every day and these two cavities would be the last cavities I get. And that has been a promise that I have kept till this day.

I spent majority of my childhood in Shenzhen, China and moved to the US for high school. I graduated magna cum laude from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and am committed to be a lifelong learner. I have taken numerous continuing education courses pursuing an Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship, including at the prestigious Pankey Institute. I am affiliated with numerous professional organizations such as the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

When I am not practicing dentistry, you can find me doing ballet, yoga, or baking. I truly believe that having a well-balanced life allows me to provide whole-person care to my patients, instead of just seeing them as someone with teeth.
